So today I maxi dressed up for my first day in KL, bought the dress for $5 at cotton on. Not usually my style but due to the large Muslim influence in KL I thought it might be more appropriate than my usual frocks or shorts I'd wear when the temperature is between 30-35•c everyday.
What I didn't really take into consideration was my arms, we went to a local Indian eatery for breakfast and boy did I get some looks; pretty sure one man stared at me whole time we were there.
Breakfast however was delicious, and we went with an ex pat kiwi and her friend who were keen to show us the local cuisine - my favourite was a rice noodle dish you dip in brown sugar and coconut, and the local milk tea drink teh tarik. There were also yummy savoury dishes too.
Walked for miles today (literally we got off the bus way too early), got lost many times and had a blast at the malls. Woo hoo. Refrained from buying stuff as KL is also our last stop as we go home- so will have time at the end. Also what I want to buy when we get back will depend on how much $$ is left. Went to the petronis towers and the pavilion the mall pretty much contains all designer gear. Hello Gucci, CK, Prada and Guess. Good bye remaining credit card limit.
IOU photos pending time in an Internet cafe :)
